Cheap G3 SAS Project

Postby Preacher » Sat Jan 10, 2009 7:13 pm

Thought I would pass on the 'goodwill'. I have been using the Clear Crosman Pulse R72 (G3 SAS) for almost a year now and have found it to be a perfect upgrade platform. Slap a Jing Gong rear wired mechbox and large battery in it with a magnum motor and you have a 340fps G3 SAS. I just went on ebay.ca and got me another clear one for $28 so when Hardcorps gets his duracoat in I can get me a nice new painted G3 SAS.

Anyway the place I got mine is in Canada and they have one more... currently going for $0.07 CAD

Totally- if I had the cash I would get a few in (place in the US has em for $45USD otherwise). I am considering painting all of it except the lower to make it CANsoft legal though I'll prolly paint the whole thing lol. This was actually the first gun I started with- $145CAD, crappy plastic gears, shooting 220fps with a .2 and it got me through 3 months just fine. Course it wasnt so fun at long range games but I made do lol. However when I slapped in my extra JG mechbox and motor it was getting 320-340fps and almost double the range of the plastic mechbox and I was thinking of getting one or two more to do as upgrade projects... anyway went on ebay a day or so ago and saw they had the same clear refurbs that go for $45 for half that and won one :D

kinda wanted to bid on the 7 cent one too but I really dont need two and figured I might as well spread the word.

I think that for the price of a mechbox, battery and motor its a helluva decent gun for about $200CAD total in the end.

The gun was in pretty good condition for a refurbished one (this is my 4th refurb and it was in the 'worst' condition in that someone had gotten sticky duck tape on the recevier and it left a goo (which I washed off with alcohol)). I have a magnum motor for it and am getting a Ver 2 mechbox rewired from Hardcorps.

I think my idea must have caught on though- I got mine for $28, the next one I watched sold for $34 and I just lost a bid for another at $45 so I think people must be realizing that for and extra $100 or so you can make a decent G3.
