Installing SCS Nub in PDI Hop Up
My SCS Nubs showed up from Shredder yesterday, so I was very excited to install them in a couple rifles to see what improvements they made.
Here's a great drawing from Shredders Site on how the SCS performs.

I quickly dropped the first in my JG M4 S-System with a brand new Systema bucking. I wasn't impressed right off the bat, but after about 200rounds the scattered rounds started to narrow into a focused beam of BB's. I would say a minor break in time is needed before the full potential of this nub is really seen, but WOW! Â I'd recommend this as a nice easy, inexpensive upgrade to your AEG.

On to the L96 with a PDI hop up.

First, the SCS is designed for an AEG hop up, not the PDI hop up. The PDI hop up is much wider so to center the nub on the bucking was a little more of a challenge. Shredder recommended some grease to hold the nub in place. I didn't use much, but enough to hold it in place when I had to open the hop up levers and adjust it's position.

I used a small allen key as a level indicatior so I could line up the bucking to center when full hop was applied.

After I was happy with what my eyes told me was center, I closed the levers and used a small piece of translucent scotch tape to hold the PDI spring in place

I have put about 100 rounds through the rifle so far, and the accuracy is fairly impressive. I have been using very heavy BB's so to put extreme amounts of backspin is difficult with such heavy weights. The biggest improvement in my eyes is my shots have become more consistent. I can't wait till it really breaks in. Takes a little longer with a bolt action.
My EDGI 6.01 tight bore barrel is on its way, and when it gets here I'm going to try a softer Systema bucking to see if I can make some minor improvements from here.
I'll update as things progress.
